Ahmadinejad en Columbia

Polémica visita del presidente iraní a la universidad de Columbia: Le reciben con abucheos, algunos aplausos; el rector le presenta como un dictador; el presidente iraní se queja de que no le han dado el mismo tiempo que al ilustrísimo señor rector; aplausos del auditorio, y más bronca por sus siempre “increíbles” palabras…bueno, aquí un liveblogging.

Un comentario de uno de los lectores del NYT que quiero destacar:
I just want to say, as a student at Columbia, that I am proud to be at a University that is willing to allow all voices to be heard, however misguided they may be. I think that it is more important not for the audience to listen to what Ahmadinejad has to say, but rather for him to take away a better understanding of a nation is despised by much of the region from which he hails. I hope our hospitality as a University and as a Nation have a positive impact. It is only through such measures that we can gain a better understanding of people that wish us harm and vice-versa.
